Veneers are customized thin pieces of porcelain that are bonded to your teeth to create a beautiful smile. This restoration will improve the natural color, shape, and size of your teeth.
- Want esthetic improvement
- Have diastema (spacing) between teeth and want them closed
- Have worn/chipped teeth
- Have abnormally shaped or positioned teeth
- Have severe discoloration of the teeth
Usually, two appointments are needed for the veneers. On the first appointment, the teeth will be minimally prepared. After, accurate impressions and bite registrations are taken in order for the dental lab technician to fabricate an esthetic, well-fitting, and durable veneer restoration. The lab fabrication process will take a few weeks and in the meantime the patient will have esthetic temporary veneers placed over the prepared teeth. On the second appointment, the finished restorations will be tried in the patient's mouth to verify the shape, color, and fit. Few adjustments may be needed to ensure properly fitting, comfortable restorations. Once the proper esthetics and fit is verified, the veneers are permanently cemented. Proper and consistent brushing, flossing, and regular recall visits with the dentist will aid in the life of your new restoration.
